Cross-Examining Experts

Law books

There is a special skill in being able to question an expert effectively.

On this course, delegates learn and practise specialist questioning skills such as direct and re-direct examination and cross-examination.

You will learn techniques in how to cast doubt on an expert's testimony by highlighting bias or lack of qualifications or faulty instructions and flaws in the expert’s method. You will also appreciate how important it is to get the expert to agree with as much of your case as possible.

What the delegates say

“I am very impressed by Peter Lyons' ability to teach a subject matter such as cross-examination, which is difficult at the best of times. Peter made it easy, enjoyable and interesting for everyone in our team. Even after 20 years of practising advocacy, Peter has proved to me that there is always something new to learn.”
