CPD’s trainers have been teaching internationally for over 15 years. We started with a two-day course for the Hong Kong Law Society’s Advocacy Institute and were invited to Hong Kong eight times. We also taught twice for the Singapore Law Society and for the English Law Society at its annual convention in Paris.
We have trained advocates in trial advocacy and arbitration advocacy for the Clifford Chance Academy in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Milan; for Linklaters in Paris, Barcelona, Prague and Vienna; and for CMS Cameron McKenna’s Arbitration Academy in Vienna.
In London we have taught several US law firms, delivering advocacy courses for O’Melveny and Myers, Baker Botts, Vinson & Elkins and Skadden Arps, and ethics courses for Shearman & Sterling.
CPD trainers have also taught advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution skills to European lawyers in Prague and Brussels and to Irish lawyers in Dublin and Belfast.
We have presented arbitration and advocacy courses to Indian, Chinese and Argentine lawyers attending programmes in the UK.
Many of our training team are members of or closely associated with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) in America. One of our trainers, Professor Peter Lyons, is a regular trainer at NITA’s advocacy conventions in Indiana and Boston and has also taught on the National course in Colorado.
Our courses are always adapted to suit the needs of our clients and we make sure that local practices and customs are reflected in our case studies. Our clients are impressed.
We have considerable experience in providing training which forms part of a law firm’s international convention. Firms often choose this method of training so that fee-earners from offices in different countries can meet each other. It is a more useful method of networking than a simple meeting because delegates get to work with each other and solve problems whilst experiencing our interactive training method.
You may be a convention organiser who wants to give the delegates some top-quality training during down time at your conference.
